Charlotte NC Most Modern Neighborhoods: The Cloisters

Although Charlotte, NC doesn't have any neighborhoods that are exclusively modern it does have few neighborhoods that have an above average concentration of mid-century modern homes and what is usually dubbed the atomic ranch.

The first in this neighborhood series:

The Cloisters - This enclave of homes off Providence Road about half way between  Sharon Road and Fairview.  The Cloisters consist of only three roads, a large loop around a pond called Cloister Drive, and two other roads, coming in to it, Pickwick, and Warrington.   A few of my favorite modern homes are in this neighborhood.  When you enter the neighborhood at the corner of Warrington and The Cloisters, 1818 Cloister Drive captures the fun of Modern with it's custom mod metal column to greet you.   Further down Cloister Drive other great homes are 2535 Cloister Drive  currently being restored by Bill and Sue Davis, and  The Solomon and Shirley Levine house at 2300 Clositer Dr. According to the Charlotte Mecklenburg Landmarks Commission, "The Cloisters is one of Charlotte's best preserved examples of upscale suburban landscape planning".
If you are looking for a Charlotte NC, MCM home located with other architecture lovers eheck out all the homes for sale in The Cloisters.
